Join us for Wheel to Survive, a 6 hour indoor cycling fundraiser to fund ovarian cancer research for early detection, genetic awareness, better treatment options and a CURE for ovarian cancer.
Events will be held in Dallas, San Diego and San Francisco.
Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological cancer affecting 1 in 70 women. Today more than 70% of ovarian cancer patients will die of their disease, compared to less than 20% of breast cancer patients. When ovarian cancer is detected and treated early, the five year survival rate is greater than 92%. Sadly though, symptoms are vague and subtle, so most patients are diagnosed at later stages and less than 50% will survive longer than 5 years after their diagnosis. And there is NO reliable early detection test for the disease. There are mammograms for breast cancer, PSA for prostate cancer, colonoscopy for colon cancer, but NOTHING for ovarian cancer. A pap smear will not detect ovarian cancer.
IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THESE STATISTICS FOR OUR MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS, SISTERS AND GIRLFRIENDS AND BE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST OVARIAN CANCER TODAY!
That is why we need your help. The goal of the event is to bring awareness of the disease symptoms and provide funds for research to promote early detection, genetic awareness, better treatment options and a CURE for ovarian cancer.
We hope you will join us for one of these important and inspirational events.
